The Dolphin Research Center

The (DRC) Main facility and the DRC dorm building are only a short walk from the Gulf View Resort.

The DRC is a not-for-profit education and research facility, home to a family of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions. The Dolphin Research Center was founded in 1984 by Jayne Shannon-Rodriguez and Mandy Rodriguez.  Their goal was to establish a unique education and research facility. The Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions presently living there provide a range of personalities and backgrounds. Some were born there; others came to the DRC from separate facilities for various reasons or were already living there when Jayne and Mandy began managing the center.  The public is invited to meet them all and learn each one's story.

They are open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

They are closed to the public on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.

General admission: Adults-$19.50; Seniors 55 and over-$16.50; Active military and veterans - $16.50; Children 4-12-$13.50; Children 3 and under-Free.
